According to a report in Haberturk (as translated by Sport Witness), Tanguy Ndombele will be given one final chance by Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk to prove himself over the coming weeks.
A few days ago, we relayed a report from Milliyet, which claimed that Buruk, who had previously been frustrated by Ndombele’s lack of fitness and his attitude, had held ‘a special meeting’ with the player during the international break.
It was explained that the Galatasaray manager stressed to the Frenchman that he believed in his talent and consequently, the 26-year-old showed an improvement in training.
It was suggested there is now some increased optimism that the on-loan Tottenham man can turn his fortunes around.
Last chance for Tanguy Ndombele away from Spurs
Haberturk have now expanded on that, revealing that Ndombele will be given one ‘last chance to prove himself’, with the former Lyon man expected to be handed minutes in the clash against Alanyaspor on Saturday evening.
The outlet adds that the club will monitor the midfielder’s condition in training, his attitude and his performances to see if they ‘have changed positively’.
It is thus suggested that the coming weeks could potentially make or break Ndombele’s spell at the Turkish giants.
Spurs Web Opinion
Even if Ndombele manages to show more intent and a positive attitude over the next few weeks, the question is whether he will be able to sustain that for a longer period of time or whether he will regress to the mean. The Frenchman’s career trajectory over the last few years does not fill me with much optimism.
