Report: Tottenham plotting move to sign Dutch midfielder next summer

Tottenham are planning to make a move to sign Ajax midfield starlet Ryan Gravenberch next summer, according to Fichajes.

Spurs are currently in a position where they are looking to freshen up and rebuild their squad, with new head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and football director Fabio Paratici at the helm of the operation.

Paratici has already added talents in Cristian Romero, Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil and Emerson Royal, while exciting teenage prospect Pape Matar Sarr will join the club from Metz at the end of the season.

Fichajes report Spurs are now looking to bolster their midfield talent pool with the signing of Dutch midfielder Gravenberch.

The report claims Spurs will make an initial move to sign him next summer, when he will have just one year remaining on his contract with the Amsterdam side. If that bid fails, they will try to record a snip in 2023, when he will become a free agent.

Spurs would not be alone in their interest in Gravenberch, with the likes of Liverpool also reportedly keeping tabs on the situation in Amsterdam.

The 19-year-old burst onto the scene for the Eredivisie champions last season and became a trusted figure in Erik ten Hag’s side at such a tender age. He started 32 league appearances and played a crucial role en route to Ajax’s title run.

Spurs Web Opinion

Gravenberch is one of the hottest prospects in world football, and it would be crazy to think Ajax would let him go for a minuscule fee due to his contract. I expect them to try to enter negotiations for a new deal soon so they can at least receive a value close to what he is worth.
