Report: Tottenham pursuing another centre-back signing with three targets named

Tottenham are looking to sign another centre-back this summer with Josko Gvardiol, Pau Torres and Rodrigo Becao still on their shortlist, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.

Spurs have made plenty of moves in the market so far with five new players arriving in north London ahead of the new season.

Richarlison and Yves Bissouma headline the additions in front of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster, while defender Clement Lenglet was signed on a season-long loan from Barcelona.

But Tottenham’s move to bring in centre-back Lenglet does not mean they plan to stop there with Konur claiming Antonio Conte’s side are keen for more and have three targets in their thoughts.

Villarreal’s Torres, who was linked with a move to Spurs last summer (The Guardian) has been named as one target after another impressive season with the Yellow Submarine.

Croatia international Gvardiol continues to be a name on the club’s radar, although a move for the RB Leipzig man could prove to be difficult after it was claimed the 20-year-old could sign a new contract with the German side (Sportske Novosti).

The final target has been listed as Udinese’s Becao which comes after Messaggero Veneto recently reported Spurs are ready to make an enquiry about the Brazilian, who has been made available for transfer this summer.

Tottenham still need some more depth in central defence after bringing in Lenglet and they have plenty of time to find another player before the transfer window closes.

Gvardiol is definitely the pick of the bunch and Torres would be good too, while Becao would be a slightly cheaper alternative they can look towards if they are struggling.
