Report: Tottenham reach agreement to loan Ndombele with option to buy

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Napoli to loan Tanguy Ndombele for the 2022/23 season, including an option to buy – according to both Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio

Tottenham and Napoli have come to an agreement, with the focus now shifting to the Serie A side and their negotiations with Ndombele himself.

The French midfielder was not included in any of Tottenham’s pre-season squads this summer, and was also nowhere to be seen during the opening day demolition of Southampton, despite being the club’s record signing.

Ndombele spent the second half of last season back on loan at his former club Lyon, although he failed to impress after a promising first few games.

It appears the midfield maestro, who has often been praised for his natural talent but criticised for his application, will now be given the chance to rebuild his career with Napoli.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This is a great move for Ndombele, and probably the last chance he will have to rebuild his career to any meaningful level. If he flops this season and his work rate is questioned once more, I can’t see anyone taking the risk on him – which would be bad news for Tanguy and Spurs. Fingers crossed he does well and the buy option is around £25m.
