Report: Tottenham ready to launch £25m opening offer for centre-back

Journalist Ekrem Konur has reported that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to launch an opening offer for Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Piero Hincapie.

Tottenham have been left frustrated in their efforts to sign a left-sided centre-half so far this summer.

Alessandro Bastoni’s agent has confirmed that his client will be staying at Inter Milan (Football Italia) while RB Leipzig have reportedly told Spurs that Josko Gvardiol will not be sold for any price this summer (Transfermarkt).

The Guardian reported this week that Spurs are also ready to pull the plug on their pursuit of Clement Lenglet, with the Barca star not enthused by the prospect of joining the North London club. Although Marca have claimed he is one step away from an N17 move.

Another name who has emerged as a target for Tottenham over recent days is Hincapie, who has been a revelation since his move to Leverkusen 12 months ago.

Relevo journalist Marcus Duran claimed on Tuesday that both Spurs and AC Milan have spoken to the 20-year-old’s representatives regarding a summer transfer.

Konnur has now taken to social media to claim that Antonio Conte’s men are ready to launch an offer of £25m for the Ecuador international.

I am surprised that we are not bidding for Pau Torres, especially given that Paratici tried to sign the Spaniard last summer. While Hincapie is extremely talented, singing the 20-year-old would be a gamble, given that he has only had one season at the top level.
