Report: Tottenham ready to make £42.5m bid for Inter Milan centre-back target

Tottenham are ready to submit a bid worth £42.5 million (€50m) to sign Torino defender Gleison Bremer, according to CalcioMercato.

Spurs are already starting to make their moves in the transfer market this summer after securing a return to the Champions League under Antonio Conte.

The Italian has curated a list of demands he wants the club to tick off in the window, which includes bringing in a new centre-back to bolster his options (Telegraph).

Torino’s Bremer has cropped up in the conversation (The Sun) after the Brazilian putting up a strong campaign defensively for the Granata.

CalcioMercato now report that Tottenham could strengthen their chase for the 25-year-old by readying a £42.5 million offer to lure him to North London.

The report notes Spurs could launch their approach for Bremer alongside their pursuit of Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, who has recently appeared on the club’s transfer radar (Daily Mail).

The report adds that Inter themselves have a verbal agreement with Bremer for a five-year deal, but mention they need to be wary of a ‘serious assault’ from Tottenham’s direction.

However, Spurs’ interest is also joined by AC Milan after falling short in their negotiations for Lille’s Sven Botman, while Paris Saint-Germain have been named as other suitors from abroad.

Bremer put together a very strong campaign for Torino and was a key reason why they were so defensively sound throughout.

If Bastoni is not an achievable target, then Bremer looks to be a good option to look towards, but he is not exactly of the same ilk as the Italian.
