Report: Tottenham receive a ‘concrete proposal’ for Bryan Gil transfer

Bryan Gil’s Tottenham Hotspur career looks to be over, and Eredivisie giants Feyenoord are ready to offer him an exit route, as the Dutch side have made a ‘formal’ offer for his services already.

The young Spaniard has simply never got going at Spurs in the three years since he joined the club.

Gil has been out on loan in his native Spain over the last two seasons, spending time with Valencia and then rejoining his former club Sevilla last year.

The 23-year-old was retained by Ange Postecoglou in the summer, and stayed put in January, too, despite interest in his services.

Unfortunately, Gil has only featured 11 times for Spurs this term, and has spent just 221 minutes on the field of play (Transfermarkt).

While Gil reportedly decided to stick around at the start of this year, it is thought the young winger is now keen to get clarity on his future (GiveMeSport). The word from Spain is, that Gil is keen to return to Sevilla permanently (Vamos Mi Sevilla).

Feyenoord really want to sign Bryan Gil

However, his next destination could well be the Netherlands, with Feyenoord maintaining a big interest in Gil. And, according to a report from 1908, the Dutch side have already taken positive steps to get a deal over the line ahead of the summer.

It is said there are “concrete lines” between the Eredivisie side and the Spaniard, with a “formal” proposal believed to have been tabled already. Feyenoord see Gil as the kind of “reinforcement at the top” that they need to add to their squad.

Apparently, there has been “movement” of late that could lead to Gil heading out of North London, but it is “not yet clear” what that switch may entail. Whether it be a purchase or a loan move remains to be seen.

The expectation is that Feyenoord would want to sign someone on a “long-term basis,” and that Gil is not looking for a loan move this summer, with the player wanting a more permanent solution to his future.

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s a shame things haven’t worked out for Gil here, but he absolutely has to leave this summer. It’s not fair on him to be wasting his time at Spurs, and it’s pointless for us to keep him. Time to cut our losses and sell him.
