Football London have reported that Tottenham have now received a boost in their pursuit of Atalanta right-back Timothy Castagne this summer.
It is said that the Serie A club are close to signing a new right-back of their own, potentially freeing up the sale of Castagne in the near future.
Mergim Vojvoda, the Standard Liege right-back, has now confirmed that he is expecting to sign for Atalanta after agreeing terms (Football Italia).
Castagne was a pivotal part of the Atalanta squad that defied the odds to reach the Champions League quarter-finals this season, losing out only to two late PSG goals last week in a 2-1 defeat.
The Belgian international has been linked with a move to Tottenham of late, with reports claiming that Atalanta value him at £18m this summer (HLN).
Castagne was reportedly set for talks with Atalanta following their Champions League exit.
Spurs Web Opinion:
I now fully expect Castagne to be the first-choice for Tottenham this summer, but Levy will only make a move once Aurier has been sold to AC Milan. I also expect the Spurs chairman to bring the price for Castagne down to something closer to £12m-£15m.
