Tottenham Hotspur are mulling over a loan offer from Sevilla for Alejo Veliz, and will make a decision today on a proposal that would see the youngster join the La Liga side until the end of the season, with no purchase clause involved.
Alejo Veliz joined Tottenham last summer from Argentinian side Rosario Central, but has had to make do with bit-part appearances here and there throughout the season so far for Ange Postecoglou‘s side.
With Heung-min Son and Richarlison in such good form, the youngster has managed just 41 minutes of action across eight Premier League substitute appearances, but did bag his first goal in the 4-2 defeat against Brighton back in December (Transfermarkt).
Sadly, Veliz’s season was cut short when he pulled up with a knee injury in the win over Bournemouth at the start of the year, with the young striker leaving the field in tears after bravely trying to play on. He is expected to be out until March with the issue.

Sevilla want Alejo Veliz
That has not stopped Sevilla from showing their interest, however, and according to David Ornstein at The Athletic, the Spanish outfit have now asked Spurs if they can take Veliz on loan.
It is thought Tottenham will “make a decision” on the matter today, with the outcome expected before tonight’s transfer deadline at 11pm.
The report claims the proposal from Sevilla “does not include an option to buy” and would be nothing more than a temporary switch until the end of the season.

I just don’t see the point of this move, really. If Alejo is out until March, he may as well stay with Spurs for his rehabilitation, be around the first team, and hopefully he can come back and pick up where he left off, as he was just starting to show what he can do in the Premier League.
