Report: Tottenham receive potential boost in the fight to keep Harry Kane

Football Insider have claimed that Manchester United are no longer optimistic about their chances of landing Harry Kane this summer.

The report states that Harry Kane was previously Man United‘s ‘number one priority’ for the summer but the club now feel that the negotiations for the Tottenham man could drag out through the entirety of the transfer window.

This would not be an ideal situation for Erik Ten Hag’s side who allegedly want to wrap up the bulk of their transfer business early in the transfer window.

So, the Red Devils are no longer thought to be hopeful of striking an agreement with Tottenham for the centre-forward.

This update from Football Insider comes on a back of a report by 90 min, which claimed on Wednesday that many of Europe’s top clubs believe that Kane will remain at Spurs next season.

The outlet added that Tottenham have not put any price tag on the striker, with chairman Daniel Levy not even willing to consider any offers for the 29-year-old.

It seems unlikely that Tottenham’s transfer stance will change regarding Kane for the time being and if United are determined on signing a number nine early in the window, that pretty much rules out any chances of the Spurs star moving to Old Trafford this summer.
