Report: Tottenham reject club’s opening offer of £7m for 26-year-old

Turkish journalist Ertan Suzgun has claimed that Galatasaray’s opening offer of €8m (£7m) for Tanguy Ndombele has been turned down by Tottenham.

There is now renewed hope among Spurs fans that Ndombele can revive his Tottenham career under Ange Postecoglou, with some reports over recent weeks indicating that the Australian has been a fan of the Frenchman for a long time (L’Equipe via Sport Witness).

The 26-year-old could not feature in the pre-season friendly against West Ham United on Tuesday as a result of a knock he picked up in training.

However, Postecoglou confirmed it is ‘nothing serious’ (Football.London), which means that Tottenham fans can expect to watch the player in action against Leicester City on Sunday.

Galatasaray’s offer for Ndombele is rejected

Suzgun has now taken to social media to reveal that Galatasaray launched an offer of £7m for Ndombele, which was payable over four instalments but the offer was knocked back by Spurs.

The journalist states that the Turkish giants face competition from their local rivals Fenerbahce for the Tottenham man’s services.

Suzgun also adds that Ndombele’s salary demand is €4.7m (£4m) per season, which makes the operation ‘difficult’ for Galatasaray.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Ndombele wants to stay and fight for his place at Tottenham, there is certainly a chance that he could have an important role to play under Postecoglou.

The Australian might want to take a closer look at the midfielder for the remainder of pre-season before making a decision on him, which is why Spurs are unlikely to consider any offers for the Frenchman for the time being.
