Report: Tottenham remain patient over signing target

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly remaining patient with regards to their pursuit over Fulham winger, Ryan Sessgnon, this summer (Sky Sports).

The 19-year-old is said to be keen on securing a move to Tottenham in order to remain within London and to link up with Mauricio Pochettino (Guardian).

Poch has a great record in terms of progressing young English talents into first-team regulars and international stars, including Eric Dier, Kieran Trippier, Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Dele Alli, and more.

Sky Sports claim that Spurs may have to sell players and acquire new funds before they make room for new additions this summer.

The report also states that Fulham are holding firm on their £40m valuation of the player, despite the fact he only has one year left on his current deal.

In theory, if he remained at Fulham, Spurs could wait until next summer and sign Sessegnon on a free, something that the Cottagers will be aware of.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham simply cannot be spending £40m on a teenager from the Championship with a year left on his contract. Bad business would not even cover how disastrous that would be. If Fulham won’t come down on their price, Spurs should just take their chances and hope that they can sign him on a free in 2020.
