Report: Tottenham rule out move for this Premier League player

A number of managers have their favourite players and sign them while in charge of multiple clubs. Harry Redknapp, Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar spring to mind as an example.

Jose Mourinho only joined Tottenham in November, so he is yet to make his first signing as the new head coach, a signing that could come in the January transfer window.

Recent reports have linked the Special One with a move for Manchester United central midfielder, Nemanja Matic (Independent).

Mourinho has managed Matic at both Chelsea and Man United, so a move to Spurs would complete the hat-trick for the double act.

However, the Manchester Evening News have now claimed that Tottenham have ruled out a move for the Serbian 31-year-old.

The Daily Mail claim that it looks increasingly likely that Matic will move away from Manchester after falling out of favour, but it looks as if he won’t be playing under Jose again any time soon.
