Christian Eriksen was Tottenham’s hero last night as he smashed home an 88th minute winner against Brighton at the new stadium.
This gave Spurs three valuable points in the race for the top four, extending their lead to three above Chelsea, four above Arsenal, and six above Man United.
However, much has been written about whether Eriksen will still be in North London next season, with the likes of Real Madrid circling (Daily Mail).
Eriksen only has an extra year left on his contract at the end of this campaign, and Tottenham could be forced to either sell up or risk losing him on a free next season.
However, a report from the Express today states that Tottenham and Daniel Levy have scared Madrid away from a potential deal, with the Spanish giants likely still reeling from negotiations with the Spurs chairman over Gareth Bale.
This, along with fresh reports that Eriksen may sign a new deal, means good news for Tottenham fans (Goal).
