Report: Tottenham scout Moussa Dembele in recent games

No, you have not misread that. And no, Spurs are not looking to re-sign their old Belgian central midfielder, Mousa Dembele.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly scouted Lyon forward, Moussa Dembele, over the past month ahead of the January transfer window.

The Mirror claim that Spurs recently sent scouts to watch Lyon striker and ex-Man United player, Memphis Depay, but also took the chance to look at his teammate Dembele.

Spurs are said to have been in attendance for both of Lyon’s recent Champions League ties against Benfica. However, the report indicates that Depay is a top target, preferred over Dembele.

Some Spurs fans may remember that Tottenham actually wanted Dembele back in January 2016, with the player even having a medical before Fulham pulled the plug (Guardian).

So far this season, Dembele has played 12 games in Ligue 1 for Lyon, scoring an impressive nine goals in that time.

Should Spurs go for Depay, or Dembele, or both?
