Report: Tottenham scouts are impressed by 23-year-old centre-back

The Sun have revealed that Aberdeen centre-back Slobodan Rubezic has caught the eye of Tottenham’s scouts.

It has been widely reported recently that Spurs are expected to prioritise signing a centre-back in January, with GiveMeSport claiming two weeks ago that Lloyd Kelly, Trevoh Chalobah, Marc Guehi and Ko Itakura are on the North London club’s radar.

A couple of days ago, 90 min asserted that the Lilywhites are also keeping their eyes on Tosin Adarabioyo and Sebastian Caceres ahead of January.

Rubezic is now a target for Tottenham Hotspur

The Sun have now revealed that Ange Postecoglou has sent Tottenham scout Ian Broomfield on a four-day scouting mission to Scotland to run the rule over several players.

The report adds that Broomfield has allegedly been spotted in games featuring Aberdeen, Rangers and Hearts recently.

The outlet states that one player who caught his eye is Dons’ centre-back Rubezic, who has had an excellent start to life in Scotland following his switch from Serbian club Novi Pazar during the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Rubezic has been superb since his move to Aberdeen, the Premier League is a completely different kettle of fish to the Scottish top flight.

It is worth pointing out that Cameron Carter-Vickers has been one of the best defenders in the Scottish Premiership since his move to Celtic Park.

So unless the Tottenham scouts have seen something really special with Rubezic, it would be a gamble to sign the Montenegro international.
