Report: Tottenham scouts spotted at Porto vs Sporting Lisbon this week

According to the print edition of Record (as relayed by Sport Witness), scouts from Tottenham Hotspur were in attendance at the clash between Porto and Sporting Lisbon on Sunday.

The report says that representatives from Spurs travelled to Portugal during the weekend and were spotted at the Estadio do Dragao as the two giants played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Porto raced to a 2-0 lead in the first half before a dramatic late brace from Viktor Gyokeres ensured that the visitors secured a point.

Tottenham send scouts to Portugal again

The report does not reveal who Spurs were scouting but Sporting midfielder Morten Hjulmand has been heavily linked with a move to the North London club over the last couple of months.

The Denmark international has been one of the most consistent performers for Ruben Amorim’s side this season and it was suggested by Record (via Sport Witness) a few weeks ago that the Lilywhites could battle Manchester United for the 24-year-old’s signature this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Tottenham are likely to enter the market for a number six this summer, given that both Hojbjerg and Skipp could potentially be on their way out. So one would presume that Hjulmand is the player that they were running the rule on during Sunday’s fixture.
