Report: Tottenham scouts will watch 26-year-old in international fixture tonight

HITC have revealed that Tottenham’s scouts will make the trip to Germany to watch Teun Koopmeiners in action for the Netherlands this week but the outlet explained that the North London club are expected to face plenty of competition for the Atalanta star’s signature this summer.

Koopmeiners looks set to be one of the most hotly contested signings of the summer transfer window, with the midfielder turning a lot of heads with his displays over the last couple of years.

It has been widely reported over the last few weeks that Spurs have had their eye on the 26-year-old (Tuttosport via Sport Witness) while the player himself confirmed last week that he has informed Atalanta of his intention to leave the club in the summer (De Telegraaf).

Spurs face a lot of competition for Koopmeiners

HITC have now stated that representatives from Tottenham will attend Germany’s friendly against the Netherlands in Frankfurt to watch Koopmeiners in action.

However, it is revealed that they will not be the only ones in attendance, with Man Utd’s and Newcastle’s scouts also expected to be at the game to run the rule over the Dutchman.

Additionally, the report claims that the Atalanta star is also of interest to Aston Villa, Arsenal and Liverpool, while the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are also keen on securing the midfielder’s services.

Atalanta will be hoping to get a bidding war going for Koopmeiners and make more than £50m from his sale. There is no reason why Spurs cannot outbid many of the aforementioned clubs, given how strong a position the Lilywhites are in with respect to the Profit and Sustainability Rules.
