Tottenham have reportedly sent scouts to Turkey in order to watch Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir this weekend (61saat).
The 23-year-old shot-stopper is set to line up for his side against Sivasspor, with Spurs keen on seeing the man in action.
Hugo Lloris is currently the Tottenham keeper and captain, after making a return from a nasty injury this month.
However, the French World Cup winner is now 33-years-old and surely inching towards the end of his career, whereas Cakir is only just starting.
The Turkish keeper made his senior debut in the 2015/16 season for Trabzonspor after coming through the ranks within the youth academy. So far, he has played 29 games for his club and even has a cap for his senior international side (Wikipedia).
Spurs also have Paulo Gazzaniga within their ranks, who filled in for Lloris during his injury, but it remains to be seen whether the club have faith in him as a future permanent number one.
Spurs Web Opinion:
If Tottenham can get Cakir cheap, then fine. Otherwise, I would argue that money should be spent on a number of other positions long before goalkeepers.
