CalcioMercato have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Palmeras sensation Gabriel Menino ahead of the summer transfer window.

Menino has impressed since breaking into the Palmeras team last season and played a key role in the club’s Copa Libertadores triumph.

The central midfielder, who has also featured out wide, has not only dazzled with his technical ability on the ball but has also demonstrated that he possesses a fantastic engine.

Although the 20-year-old’s release clause stands at a whopping €60m (£52.1m), reports in the Spanish press have suggested that he could be available for around €20m (£17.3m) this summer.

CalcioMercato now claim that Spurs are one of a number of European sides who have ‘set their sights’ on Menino. 

Juventus, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are also said to have shown interest in the youngster, who received his first call up to Brazil’s senior squad last year.

With the group stages of the Cope Libertadores now underway, Tottenham will get an opportunity to take a look at the central midfielder as he attempts to help Palmeras retain their title.
