Report: Tottenham set to move for Barcelona midfielder

According to the Telegraph, Tottenham are reportedly interested in Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes after a successful loan spell with Everton in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is set to snatch the 25-year old midfielder from Everton with a £30million offer being proposed.

The report specifies that the lilywhites were interested in signing the Portuguese international in the 2018 summer transfer window and are now eyeing the midfielder up again.

With his disappointing time at Barcelona and a successful loan spell at Everton, he is expected to leave the Champions League quarter-finalists in the summer with double interest in his services.

Many have said the 25-year old and current Spurs midfielder, Moussa Sissoko have similar playing styles with driving and powerful midfield runs being a big part of their game.

Tottenham need to strengthen in midfield following the sale of Mousa Dembele in January and Gomes has proven he can mix it in the Premier League and with his excellent passing and with a rumoured £30million price tag, he could make a big difference at Tottenham Hotspur.
