Report: Tottenham set to ‘reignite’ interest in Juventus star defender this summer

According to Tuttosport (as relayed by The Sun), Tottenham Hotspur could try to make another attempt to sign Juventus left-back, Alex Sandro this summer.

Juventus are expected to undergo a massive rebuild this summer after Andrea Pirlo replaced Maurizio Sarri at the helm last week.

Sami Khedira, Blaise Matuidi, Mattia De Sciglio, Alex Sandro, Gonzalo Higuain, Daniele Rugani and Douglas Costa are all said to be surplus to requirements at the club and could be sold this summer.

Football.London claimed a few days ago that Hugani and Rugani could be of interest to Tottenham, with the club said to be in the market for a central defender and a back up to Harry Kane.

However, Tuttosport claim that Spurs could also be set to rekindle their interest in Sandro this summer as they look to strengthen at left-back.

It was reported earlier this year that Spurs were willing to offer Serge Aurier plus cash to sign the Brazilian (TMW via Daily Mail) and the Lilywhites have been backed to make a move for the defender after Pirlo’s appointment.

Meanwhile, the report also asserts that Costa is attracting plenty of interest from the Premier League clubs, with Manchester United said to be the front-runners for his signature.

The pacy wide man was said to be on Spurs’ radar last summer but he ended up staying put in Turin.

Spurs Web Opinion

The only player from the list that we could potentially be interested in is Douglas Costa, as reports indicate that Jose wants to bring in one more wide player this summer. With United prioritising a move for Sancho, it could open the door for us to try and nab the Brazilian. However, it remains to be seen if the 29-year-old will be within our price range.
