Report: Tottenham set to release young midfielder when contract ends

Khalon Haysman has been told to find a new club by Tottenham and is set to be released when his contract expires next month, according to Football Insider.

Haysman, 18, is approaching the end of his two-year scholarship deal and is unlikely to play any further part at Spurs beyond this season.

Football Insider report the midfielder, who had been hoping to sign a first professional deal with the club, has now been told he will be released when his deal comes to an end on June 30.

However, the same report notes that Haysman is not alone in being the subject of Tottenham’s decision and is one of a ‘batch’ of players, who are unnamed, that will not be offered pro contracts.

It will serve as huge disappointment for the teenager, who was a regular part of the Tottenham U18 side for the first portion of the campaign.

He made nine appearances in total with eight coming in the U18 Premier League while managing to net two goals (Transfermarkt).

This is the cruel nature of youth football unfortunately and Haysman looks to have been on the other end of professional deals being handed out.

With Tottenham’s warning of his pending release, though, it should hopefully give him enough time to process this and get going with finding another club to take him on to continue his development.
