Report: Tottenham set to sack Nuno today – Ryan Mason to take charge

Tottenham Hotspur are set to sack Nuno Espirito Santo as early as today, according to a report from Football Insider.

This comes just 24 hours after Spurs fell to yet another 3-0 defeat to a fellow big six side, this time in the form of Manchester United. Despite getting battered 5-0 by Liverpool last week, United managed to canter to a much-needed victory away to Tottenham.

Football Insider claim a source close to Spurs has now informed them that Daniel Levy held talks with Nuno today and is set to sack him in the coming hours.

Just as was the case earlier in the year when Jose Mourinho was given his marching orders, Ryan Mason will reportedly take interim charge. The report even claims that he may remain in the role until Christmas as Tottenham search for a permanent replacement.

Fabrizio Romano has also reported that talks are ongoing between Levy, Paratici and the entire Tottenham board. While the journalist admitted Nuno could be sacked, he added that the decision was not yet made.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This seems like the only thing to do now. However, Levy and Paratici must nail the next manager choice. We need an attractive, entertaining, attacking brand of football back at Tottenham. Anything short of that, well the cycle will repeat all over again.
