Report: Tottenham set to seal loan move for youngster as early as today

Football.London have reported that Tottenham winger Jack Clarke is set to seal a loan move to Stoke City today.

The report reveals that Spurs and Stoke are now close to tying up the final details of the loan agreement that will see Clarke spend the remainder of the season at the Championship club.

It is said that Tottenham rejected multiple loan offers for the 20-year-old during the summer as Jose Mourinho wanted to take a closer look at him in training.

The youngster did get a couple of first-team appearances under his belt in the Europa League and FA Cup and Football.London suggest that Mourinho was impressed with what he saw from the Leeds academy graduate in training.

The Spurs boss reportedly wanted the wide man to get some minutes under his belt in the second half of the season.

It was previously reported that Middlesbrough, Swansea, Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry were all keen but it appears it is Stoke who have seemingly won the race for his signature.

Getting some minutes for the Spurs first-team and training with the likes of Bale and Son would have helped Clarke’s confidence, which would have likely taken a hit last season. Let’s hope he fares much better at the bet365 Stadium than he did at Leeds or QPR last term.
