Report: Tottenham star agrees terms with European giant ahead of potential exit

Tottenham Hotspur’s Toby Alderweireld has had yet another successful pre-season in the heart of the Spurs defence against the likes of Juve, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid.

However, the Belgian star still has just one year remaining on his current Tottenham contract, meaning he could leave on a free in the summer of 2020.

There was a clause in the contract that Toby could leave Spurs for £25m up until it expired recently, with many assuming that also meant the end of any exit rumours (Standard).

However, it is now being reported that Alderweireld has actually agreed personal terms with Roma ahead of a potential deal, with Spurs willing to accept a fee of around £26m (Il Messaggero).

This comes despite the fact that The Sun reported last month that Levy would demand £40m once the release clause expired.

Tottenham and Roma previously held talks this summer over a potential Alderweireld transfer, but nothing came of them (Sky Sports).

Could Toby still be on his way out?
