Report: Tottenham star buys expensive dog to boost security after robbery

The Daily Star claim that Dele Alli has decided to beef up security at his rural home with a Dobermann after being robbed at knifepoint earlier this year.

It was reported back in May that two males wearing balaclavas broke into the midfielder’s home where the Spurs star has been isolating with his brother Harry Hickford, their two partners, and a long-term friend.

The burglars took various items including jewellery and watches before fleeing. Alli was reportedly held at knifepoint and suffered a minor facial injury after getting into an altercation with the culprits.

The report suggests that Alli began talking to firms which supplied highly-trained dogs to fellow players and celebrities after the raid in May.

The report claims that the protection dogs, like the one the 24-year-old now has at his residence, cost up to £25,000 are often Belgian or German shepherds, Dobermanns or giant Cane Corsos.

They are said to be trained to change from docile family pet to vicious attack dog if an intruder is detected.

Alli is not the only Tottenham star who has been the victim of burglary this year, with Harry Kane’s £100,000 Range Rover being stolen last week by thieves in a brazen daylight raid outside an upmarket address in Chingford, East London.
