Football Insider have revealed that Pape Matar Sarr has been handed a significant pay rise in the new contract that he signed with Tottenham Hotspur.
Earlier this week, Spurs officially confirmed that Sarr, who has emerged as one of the club’s most important players under Ange Postecoglou, has signed a new deal which runs until the summer of 2030.
The news comes just weeks after another of this season’s surprise packages, Destiny Udogie, also signed an extension of the same length.

According to Football Insider, Sarr has been handed a ‘huge’ pay hike, with the new deal allegedly lifting the midfielder into the pay bracket of some of the more senior players at the club.
In fact, the report claims that the Senegal international more than doubled what he was previously earning at Tottenham.
It is explained that Sarr hit several performance-related clauses in his old contract and that the decision to award him with a substantial pay rise was made to reflect his importance to the side.

Sarr was previously earning just £10,000 per week, according to Sportac, although his contract could potentially have been worth a lot more when one includes performance-related bonuses.
So, the midfielder would have not just doubled his pay but potentially quadrupled it, given that he has now established himself as a regular starter.
