Sky Sports have revealed on their live transfer blog that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future is not expected to be decided until the final days of the January transfer window.
Hojbjerg was an ever-present in the Tottenham team under Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte but the midfielder has had to be content with a bit-part role under Ange Postecoglou.
While it is clear that the Dane is not a natural fit for the Australian’s approach, the Spurs head coach has had to turn to him on several occasions owing to the absentees he has had in the middle of the park.
With Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr currently at the African Cup of Nations and with Giovani Lo Celso and James Maddison out injured, the 28-year-old played all 90 minutes at Old Trafford on Sunday as Spurs came away with a 2-2 draw.

Tottenham not in a hurry to sort Hojbjerg sale
Sky Sports say that although Spurs expect one or potentially both of James Maddison and Giovani Lo Celso to be back before the end of this month, they are not in a hurry to make a decision on Hojbjerg’s future.
The North London side are thought to be relaxed about the former Southampton man and are expected to asses their options in the final few days of the window before making a decision on his future.
However, the outlet makes it clear that Tottenham will not accept any cut-price deals for Hojbjerg and that they will insist on any loan offer including an obligation to buy.

Mali and Senegal have both made decent starts to their AFCON campaign and both nations look likely to qualify for the knockout stages.
The two midfielders might thus miss a couple of more matches and Ange would not want to leave himself short of options by letting Hojbjerg leave right now without bringing a replacement through the door.
