Report: Tottenham submit £43m bid to sign 22-year-old winger this summer

According to Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur have now submitted a sizeable offer to sign Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad ahead of the summer transfer window.

Kubo, who was identified as a special talent at quite a young age, is now living up to his promise since making the switch from Real Madrid to Mallorca two years ago.

The versatile winger, who can operate in either flank or as an attacking midfielder, has seven goals and four assists to his name across all competitions this season (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham submit an offer for Takefusa Kubo

Fichajes have now reported that Spurs ‘have submitted a tempting offer’ to win the race for the 22-year-old.

The outlet claims that the Premier League side have put €50m (£43m) on the table to bring the Japan international to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Although Kubo’s release clause stands at €60m (£51.4m), Spurs are said to be ‘determined’ to sign the player for less than the stipulated clause.

Although Real Sociedad want to keep hold of the attacker, it is said that Tottenham’s offer is quite ‘tempting’ for the La Liga side, who might ‘seriously consider’ accepting it.

Spurs Web Opinion

Kubo would tick several boxes for Spurs as he would be able to compete with Kulusevski and Johnson for the wide-right spot while also being able to cover for James Maddison in the number ten role.

The 22-year-old clearly has a high ceiling and Postecoglou might fancy his chances of getting the best out of him.
