Report: Tottenham submit £6.7m bid for 20-year-old who wants PL transfer

Tottenham have submitted a bid for Besiktas defender Ridvan Yilmaz, who wants to secure a move to the Premier League, according to Turkiye Gazetesi.

Yilmaz has been attracting attention after producing an impressive campaign at left-back which has yielded seven direct goal contributions (Transfermarkt).

TRT Spor recently reported that Tottenham are one of the clubs interested in the 20-year-old and planned to have scouts in attendance to monitor his performance during Besiktas’ fixture against Kasimpasa on Monday night.

And Turkiye Gazetesi have now confirmed that Spurs have been following Yilmaz throughout the season and have even submitted a bid worth £6.7m (€8m) for the Turkish side’s consideration.

However, the report notes that the offer is below Besiktas’ £8.4 million (€10m) valuation, with the club keen to get the maximum fee possible with Yilmaz set to be out of contract next year.

The player is thought to want a transfer to England’s top-flight and will reportedly ask the club’s hierarchy to find a resolution to make the move possible.

Yilmaz has notched three goals and four assists in 24 league appearances this term, and has been deployed as a direct left-back and midfielder (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

It seems that Spurs are very keen on Yilmaz and want to bring the youngster to bolster their options on the left side. Spurs have had some issues on that side with Sergio Reguilon and Ryan Sessegnon having their own struggles this season and this could be a sign that they want to freshen up that flank.
