Report: Tottenham submit significant bid for Tanguy Ndombele

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele for some time now, with Sky Sports reporting last week that the two clubs are in talks.

Ndombele is seen as a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele, who left North London for China back in January 2019.

However, Lyon are said to want around £63m for the French powerhouse this summer, a fee that Tottenham have not yet met (Sky Sports).

Despite this, reports indicated that both sides were confident that a deal could be reached before the new season kicks off (Standard).

There was a potential spanner in the works yesterday, as it was reported that PSG tabled an offer for Ndombele on Friday (Express).

However, it appears that this may have sparked a response from Tottenham, as Football Insider claim the North London outfit have now bid £55m for the player, which would be a club record fee.

It remains to be seen whether Lyon will be happy with a bid £8m under their reported asking price.
