Report: Tottenham submit third bid for attacking midfielder this summer

Tottenham Hotspur now have under 24 hours to complete their final transfer deals of the summer, if they are to get any new players over the line.

The Premier League window for incoming transfers slams shut at 5 pm tomorrow, although clubs will be able to sell players long after that.

One man Tottenham are reportedly attempting to get through the Hotspur Way doors in time is Sporting Lisbon star, Bruno Fernandes (Daily Mail).

Spurs have apparently had a bid of €65m rejected by the Portuguese club today, as they are holding out for €70m. This offer included a flat €55m fee upfront, with €10m add-ons.

This is the third bid from Tottenham this summer, proceeding offers of €45m and €60m.

Spurs are said to be unwilling to match Sporting’s valuation of the player, so a bid of €70 is extremely unlikely before the deadline.

Fernandes scored 32 goals and set up a further 18 in just 53 games for Sporting Lisbon last season (TransferMarkt).
