Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose is definitely back to his best in a Lilywhite shirt after some difficult spells on and off the pitch for the left-back.
However, Spurs are said to have been left ‘surprised’ by the defender’s latest media outburst this week, concerning his future at the North London club.
Rose has always been known as a straight-talking player, and is never shy of voicing his opinions to the press.
However, perhaps some conversations are best had with the club before the national media, as Rose suggested that his future was uncertain because Spurs like to move players of a certain age on.
He said (Sky Sports): “If I’m back at Tottenham next season, great, if I’m not – great.
“I don’t know what the future holds now but I’m looking forward to a break.”
“It’s not about regular first-team football. I know my age and I know how the club’s run in terms of if you get to a certain age they might look to ship you on.”
Rose is only 28-years-old, and Spurs have a number of over-30s at the club at the moment, including captain Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Moussa Sissoko, and Fernando Llorente.
The Standard claim that no decision has been made on Rose’s future at the club as of yet.
Spurs Web Opinion:
I would like to see Rose given a new three year deal at the club, as I believe he has been one of the best performers in recent months. You also get guaranteed effort, desire, and passion from Rose, something that can be lacking in modern-day football.
