Report: Tottenham talks stall over key target – and it isn’t Dybala

Tottenham Hotspur were expected to sign Ryan Sessegnon on deadline day today after agreeing a fee with Fulham.

The 19-year-old has just one year left on his current contract, meaning that Fulham were forced to decided whether to sell up or risk losing him on a free.

Sky Sports News reported that Sessegnon has been a long-term target of Pochettino.

The agreed price was reportedly set at £25m upfront, which could rise to £30m after add-ons, as well as Josh Onomah moving in the other direction.

It was reported earlier in the summer that Sessegnon wanted a move to Tottenham to link up with Pochettino and to stay in London (Guardian).

However, the Mirror now report that talks between Fulham and Spurs have hit an impasse, although no reason for the stall is given.

Darren Lewis claims that Sessegnon is only interested in a Spurs move and will end up there either today, in January, or next summer on a free.
