Report: Tottenham target hires new agent ahead of summer move

Tottenham were heavily linked with PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the January transfer window.

The Frenchman’s contract with the club runs out at the end of the current season and the midfielder will not be extending his stay with the French giants. He will thus become a free agent in the summer and be able to choose his destination.

The 23-year-old was reportedly close to a move to Barcelona in January with the Catalan club said to be willing to offer €40 million (£34.73 million) for his signature. However, the deal fell through after Barcelona signed Ajax youngster Frenkie De Jong.

According to Spanish publication, Sport, Rabiot wasn’t too happy with his representatives after they failed to get the deal over the line. The report claims that the Frenchman has decided that his mother, who was his agent until now will no longer continue in the role and that he has hired a new agent instead.

Given that Rabiot will be a free agent this summer, he will likely pocket a large fee from his new club. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham go back in for the Frenchman in the summer.
