According to Football.London, Tottenham target Djed Spence is already excited by the prospect of playing for Antonio Conte.
Spence showcased his talent whilst on loan in the Championship with Nottingham Forest from parent club Middlesbrough last season.
The 21-year-old scored twice and assisted five times in the league for Steve Cooper’s men (TransferMarkt), contributing to Forest’s playoff victory and earning a spot in the Championship team of the year (Sky Sports).
Spurs have been heavily linked with Spence in recent weeks and, according to a report from The Athletic, the player now has his heart set on a switch to N17.
This comes despite interest from other Premier League sides such as Newcastle United and Brentford, as well as German giants Borussia Dortmund (Football.London).
Football.London claim that Spence is dreaming of playing in the Champions League under Conte and the Italian coach is a decisive factor in endearing the player to Spurs.
Spurs Web Opinion
It seems that we are now beginning to really see the gravity of Conte’s pulling powers. For instance, Ivan Perisic’s decision to move to Spurs instead of Chelsea this summer (Express) demonstrates the work Conte has done to make Hotspur Way an attractive destination.
If Spurs can agree a fee for Spence, this is a signing that could be looked back on in a couple of years as a masterstroke.
