Report: Tottenham target says ‘I think I will leave’

Tottenham Hotspur received a transfer boost this week, as a player they have been consistently linked with has expressed a desire to leave his current club.

Spurs are in need of a new central midfielder or two, with the likes of Victor Wanyama, Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier, and Luke Amos out injured.

Mousa Dembele also looks set to seal his move to China this week after flying out there yesterday.

Tottenham target Abdoulaye Doucoure (Mirror) has now expressed his desire to leave Watford, and even claimed he wanted to move to a club playing in the Champions League.

This could be a cry out for Tottenham to make a bid to the hornets this year, with The Mirror previously claiming Doucoure could cost up to £50m.

As a player who can both defend and attack, as well as provide a physical presence in midfield, Doucoure could be the perfect Dembele replacement.

Doucoure told The Sun: “Yes, I think I will leave Watford.

“I think I will reach a new level by signing for another club, who are playing in European competitions.

“My priority is a club who are playing in the Champions League.”
