Report: Tottenham target tells current club he wants to join Spurs this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still looking to invest in new players before the transfer window closes, with attacking midfielders seeming to be the special of the week.

The Evening Standard claim that Tottenham are determined to sign either Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon or Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis before deadline day.

Spurs are said to want to cover all bases in case Eriksen leaves after the deadline, but will only sign one of these two playmakers.

Fernandes reportedly held talks with Lisbon this week and has told them he wants to move to London and Tottenham this summer (Daily Mail). The Portuguese club are said to want around £64m for the player.

While Spurs have apparently made an offer, it is said to be well below the asking price.

Newspaper outlet, O Jogo, also report that Fernandes has chosen Tottenham over Man United this summer.

Can Spurs get their man in time before the window slams shut on August 8?
