Report: Tottenham target tells friends he wants to join the North London club

Tottenham Hotspur broke their transfer record this week as they announced the £52.8m signing of Lyon midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, which could rise to £62.8m after add-ons (BBC).

However, Spurs would have broken their transfer record far sooner if they had it their way, but Real Betis decided to turn down a £53m bid for Giovani Lo Celso (BBC).

Spurs were keen to bring the playmaker to North London but the Spanish club believed the bid was not close enough to his £88m buyout clause.

Football Insider has now claimed that Lo Celso has told his friends that he wants to join Tottenham this summer transfer window.

The Argentine is said to be willing to push through a move before the new season starts.

The report also states that Lo Celso remains a priority target for Tottenham and are willing to spend a similar fee to the Ndombele deal to land the 23-year-old.
