Report: Tottenham target wants move to Liverpool instead

Tottenham Hotspur now have under 24 hours left to complete any last-minute deals in this summer’s transfer window. The window for Premier League purchases shuts tomorrow at 5 pm.

However, that hasn’t stopped Tottenham from being linked to a number of attacking midfielders, including Philippe Coutinho, the ex-Liverpool Brazilian maestro.

It has hardly been a dream move to Barcelona for the attacking midfielder, and Sky Sports have labelled Tottenham as the favourites to secure his signature from the deadline.

Sky Sports also claim that Pochettino has personally called the Brazil international in order to convince him to join, after the Argentine managed him for 6-months at Espanyol.

The Times add that Spurs could pay £21m to take the playmaker on loan for a season.

However, TalkSPORT have now claimed that Coutinho does not want a move to Tottenham this summer, while Sport say that he prefers a move back to the Champions of Europe, Liverpool.

Sky Sports have also confirmed that Coutinho has turned down the chance to join Spurs on loan this summer, as he prefers a permanent deal.
