Report: Tottenham target’s agent is refusing to take Arsenal’s calls

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has said (as relayed by Football Italia) that Dusan Vlahvoic’s agent is not answering Arsenal’s phone calls.

Tottenham are expected to make a move for a striker in January (Fabrizio Romano) and Conte has reportedly asked the North London club to bring in Vlahovic.

Fabio Paratici is alleged to have had a meeting with the Fiorentina directors recently to discuss a potential deal for the Serbian international.

It then emerged a few days ago that Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal were also eyeing a move for Vlahovic in January.

It was claimed the Gunners were ready to pay the €80m (£68.4m) asking price for the 21-year-old but were yet to reach an agreement with the player.

However, Di Marzio has now revealed that Mikel Arteta’s side have had a major setback in their pursuit of Vlahovic.

The journalist explains that Arsenal are not able to make any progress in their pursuit of the Viola star as the striker’s representatives are not even bothering to pick up their phone calls.

Arsenal are said to be eager to present their vision and project but Vlahovic’s entourage are alleged to be blanking them.

It is asserted that the striker has made his position clear that the Gunners’ offer is not even worth listening to.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have no doubt that most players would find a move to Spurs much more appealing than joining Arsenal, particularly following Conte’s arrival.

That is also a measure of how far Arsenal have fallen. Despite their improved run of form over recent weeks, they are not considered a serious force around Europe anymore.
