Report: Tottenham tipped to make €50m offer for Serie A midfielder

After two transfer windows of complete inactivity, Tottenham are set to strengthen their squad considerable this transfer window as Mauricio Pochettino looks to strengthen his squad in order to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool (The Sun).

The heart of the midfield seems to be a priority for the club this summer as Spurs have reportedly already launched bids for both Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso (The Mirror) and Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele (The Sun).

Another player who Spurs have been linked with over the past few weeks is Roma’s attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.

Gazzetta Dello Sport now claims that it is only a matter of time before Spurs submit an offer for the 19-year-old.

The teenager has broken into the Roma side this season after completing a move from Inter Milan last summer and has impressed everybody with his performances, netting 6 goals in 36 appearances for the Italian giants.

The report claims that Roma are willing to let Zaniolo go for €50 million, and it is suggested that Tottenham are willing to meet the valuation.

If this is indeed true, then it certainly a positive sign as it has been reported that Spurs have already launched bids for Ndombele and Le Celso as well. It looks like Daniel Levy has learned from his mistakes last summer, and is willing to move early for players this time around even if it means paying a little extra.
