Report: Tottenham looking to hire new coach for Nuno’s staff

Tottenham Hotspur are set to hire a new first-team strength and conditioning coach to improve the fitness of the first-team squad, report Football London.

This comes as the club have put an advert online, which lists the role and responsibilities.

New manager Nuno Espirito Santo only named three staff members on his new coaching team when he arrived at Spurs, assistant Ian Cathro, goalkeeping coach Rui Barbosa and fitness coach Antonio Dias.

Nuno is well known for demanding a high level of fitness from his players and often goes to the extent of putting on double sessions throughout pre-season in an attempt to get the side’s fitness in top shape for an upcoming season.

The club have also advertised for a football secretary for maternity cover, with all the roles and requirements for the role posted here.

The club are clearly going through widescale changes behind the scenes and this is one of them. The players’ fitness seemed to be an issue under Mourinho, especially considering how good it was under Pochettino. The more fitness coaches, the better, if you ask me.
