Report: Tottenham to compete with West Ham for veteran striker

Tottenham Hotspur are claimed to be interested in bringing in a striker in the January transfer window. Owing to Kane’s injury and Heung-Min Son’s involvement in the Asia Cup, Fernando Llorente is the only striker currently available for selection to Pochettino.

Over the last few weeks, Spurs have been linked with the likes of Josh Maja, Guessepi Rossi, and Callum Wilson. It has now emerged that Tottenham are interested in bringing in AS Roma striker Eden Dzeko to the club.

Dzeko has been prolific in front of goal for the Serie A giants for the last four seasons and according to a report in La Repubblica, Tottenham and West Ham both want to bring the 32-year-old back to English Football.

The report claims that Dzeko is West Ham’s primary target to replace Marko Arnautovi who has expressed his desire to leave the club. It is claimed that Spurs have also registered their interest in the former Manchester City forward who scored 72 goals in 189 appearances during his time in English football.

While the Bosnian doesn’t have age on his side, he is certainly more than capable of doing a job for Spurs till the end of the season.
