Report: Tottenham to face La Liga club in South Korea during pre-season

According to the print edition of Korean publication Kyongbuk Maeil (as relayed by Football Asian), Tottenham Hotspur are set to face Mallorca during their pre-season tour to South Korea in July.

Tottenham confirmed last month that the team will travel to South Korea in July for pre-season in preparation for the 2022/23 campaign.

The club revealed that they will play two exhibition matches in the country as part of the Coupang Play Series and would also be engaging with their Korean fans and celebrating their local culture.

If Kyongbuk Maeil’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham’s two opponents during the pre-season tour have now been confirmed.

The North London club will allegedly play the K League All-Stars before taking on Mallorca, whom South Korean international Lee Kang-in plays for.

The report reveals that Spurs will take on the La Liga club at DGB Daegu Bank Park – home to Daegu FC, who won the 2018 KFA Cup and finished runners up in the competition last year.

Conte will likely want competitive matches in pre-season in order to prepare for the new campaign rather than playing against lower league teams. So, the Italian will probably welcome the challenge of a high-intensity game against Mallorca.
