Report: Tottenham to match any top bid for Frenkie de Jong on one condition

Tottenham Hotspur became the first ever Premier League side not to sign a single new player in the summer transfer window this season.

However, that doesn’t mean that Pochettino and Daniel Levy won’t be on the lookout for future signings over 2019.

One player that Spurs have been heavily linked to is Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong (Guardian).

Spurs have a good relationship with the Dutch side, as they have previously bought Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, and Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.

Talking of Christian Eriksen, The Mirror have reported that Tottenham will match any top offer for Frenkie de Jong, but only if they are forced to sell Eriksen.

The Great Dane has under 18 months left on his current deal, and Tottenham may be forced to sell up if he refuses to sign a new contract.

De Jong is extremely highly rated around Europe, with the likes of PSG interested in paying over £65m for his services.
