Report: Tottenham to rival Arsenal in race for La Liga midfielder

Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals is having a great season with the Yellow Submarine. The 23-year-old who has 4 goals and 4 assists to his name so far this campaign has caught the eye of several European giants with his performances.

It was reported that Napoli were interested in signing the Spaniard as a replacement for China-bound Marik Hamsik but it is said that Fornals prefers a move to the Premier League with Arsenal said to be keen on his signature (Source: Corriere dello Sport )

However, according to a report in TEAMtalk, Manchester City and Tottenham have now entered the race for the attacking midfielder.

The report claims that Fornals has a release clause of just €25 million and several European clubs will be looking to land him in the summer.

Tottenham are reported to be looking for a replacement for Christian Eriksen who has not agreed to a contract extension with the club so far.

The club might be forced to sell the Dane has his contract will enter its final year at the end of the season, and Pochettino might be eyeing Fornals as the player to fill the void left by Eriksen.
