Report: Tottenham to rival West Ham for England U21 starlet Etienne Green

Tottenham and West Ham are both eyeing up a potential move for England U21 goalkeeper Etienne Green, according to TEAMtalk.

Both London clubs are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old’s progress with Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne, following his establishment as the club’s first-choice option in goal.

The report claims Spurs and the Hammers could be ready to submit official bids for Green at the end of the season, ahead of securing a potential move in the summer.

Born in Essex, Green and his family moved to France when he was four years old and he has progressed through the country’s youth system.

He has featured for Les Blues’ U21 side before but recently made the switch to represent England earlier this year.

Green has started eight games in Ligue 1 this season, although has failed to keep a clean sheet yet. However, on international duty, he featured in England U21s’ 1-0 win over Andorra earlier this week.

Green has been making waves in Ligue 1 this season and is fast-becoming hot property. Young goalkeepers are key assets for clubs to have, so no doubt Saint-Etienne will be keen to keep hold of him going forward.
