Report: Tottenham told to pay nearly £22m to sign talented 18-year-old

Sky Sports have revealed in their live transfer blog that FC Copenhagen would only sell rumoured Tottenham target Roony Bardghji for a fee of around £22m.

Bardghji is having an outstanding campaign in the Danish top flight, with clubs from across Europe now allegedly taking notice of the youngster.

The 18-year-old winger, who has already found the back of the net 11 times so far this season, has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham since 90 min first reported last month that the Lilywhites were scouting the youngster.

A little over a week ago, InterLive.it named Spurs as Inter Milan’s strongest competitors for the Sweden Under-21 international’s signature, explaining that Ange Postecoglou had personally requested for the player to be signed.

Sky Sports have now said that Tottenham are not alone in their interest in Bardghji, revealing that three unnamed Premier League clubs have made enquiries for the teenager.

The report adds that the youngster, who is also alleged to be on Barcelona’s radar, has made it clear that he will not be signing a new contract at the Danish capital.

However, the publication reveals that Copenhagen would want €25m (£21.5m) to part ways with the winger during this month’s transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Tottenham appear to have narrowed down their options for the centre-back and midfield role, it seems like they are still keeping their options open when it comes to wide-forward role, with a host of attackers continuing to be linked with a move to the Lilywhites.

That suggests that the club will likely put off their pursuit of the forward until late in the window and assess the various opportunities that open up.
